since hayden's last day of school, i don't think we've had a free day yet. it's the start of a fun and busy summer!
after celebrating isaac's birthday on friday and going to the parade yesterday, we finished our first weekend of summer by celebrating father's day at mom and dad's house.
after going to church, we headed over to mom and dad's where the kids immediately jumped into the COLD pool.
the eventually got out long enough to eat a little (and by a little i mean A LITTLE) bit of dinner before they headed back in.
at one point, hayden headed over to the pool to rinse his hands off and he saw a bug floating in the water. he decided to try to scoop it up to get it out but apparently it was a bee. nobody saw anything, but we all heard the screaming. mom mixed up a little something to put on it to make it feel better, but of course hayden didn't want anything to do with it. eventually, he did let us put some on his finger and within seconds it was feeling better.
dad looked in the pool but didn't see a bee, justin looked at his finger and there was no stinger. but there was a white round spot in the area he said was stung.
after all of the drama, came the presents. we all went in together and got dad a new gas grill. something he's been talking about for YEARS.
we all had another great day, but had to get going home as hayden is going to start his week of vacation bible school tomorrow.
happy father's day to all the great dad's out there!

marching for mops
today our family had a couple of firsts. we all dressed up in red, white and blue, we decorated the heck out of our stroller in red, white and blue and we marched in and watched a parade.
i honestly don't believe that we have ever taken even hayden (who has been alive for 7 years) to a parade.
our whole family marched in the parade in canton to help represent our northridge mops group along with the gregg and bettinger families.
the kids helped us throw candy to the kids in the crowd and also passed out fruit snacks with our mops card attached to it to all of the moms in the crowd. we're hoping to spread the word to any mother's of preschoolers in the area in hopes that they'll come join us in the fall.
i had explained to the boys what we would be doing and hayden kept saying "awww, i wish we could WATCH the parade." i told him that BEING in a parade is way cooler, as not everyone has that chance. he was fine with it but insisted that he wished "we could be in it AND watch it."
well, his dream came true. we were at the very front of the parade so when we got to the end, we were able to sit down and watch the whole rest of the parade and collect all of the candy that we could.
once the parade was over, we headed out for some mother's pizza with the gregg's and then headed home.
it was a busy and fun day but now i can't wait to get out of all of this red, white and blue!

isaac's birthday party
our good friend isaac gregg is turning 3 and nancy planned a little birthday party with all of his friends and their mom's at the sprinkler park.
it was a really warm and humid day so we decided to drop london off with grandma and grandpa so she could just hang out with them for the day. once she was in their air conditioned house, the boys and i took off with our lunches ready to party.
as soon as isaac got there, he couldn't wait to eat lunch! probably so he could eat one of the yummy cupcakes nancy had brought for everyone! and soon after, he opened up all of his presents.
the kids had a great time running down the big hill and running through all of the sprinklers, as usual.
so far, it's a great start to summer vacation!
thanks for inviting us to your birthday party, isaac! happy 3rd birthday!!! talan is so happy you'll be back in his class at church again!
taking a break for some lunch:
isaac had been waiting all morning for one of these cupcakes:

mommy's little helpers
i know i have pictures of a poor helpless talan as a baby after hayden had covered him with blankets or shoved stuffed animals up inside his shirts. and now i have pictures of a poor helpless london in the same state (minus the stuffed animals...i think hayden has forgotten about that).
the boys decided that since it's only mid june, london might get a little cold. so they decided to cover her up with every single blanket that was available from the living room and london's room.
oh, london. it has only just begun....
